So I met a boy…
Off Plenty of Fish. Friend of a bff and we all hung out together and drank all day, almost went to a bruins game, and had a genuine great time the other day. He’s from NH, and he needed a place to crash and I knew he wasn’t going to pull anything on me, so I offered my king-sized memory foam bed up to him (to share 
b/c we hit it off. We talked about everything and couldn’t stop falling into each other every so often to share a passionate kiss. We learned each other all day, all night, and all day. He had a smile that would brighten just about anybody’s day, and lucky me, this day was mine.
We were together for > 24 hours, and the conversation never grew stale. We went our separate ways to watch the Superbowl, and he left his overnight bag at my place, and I told him I’d meet up with him @ South Station at the end of the night.
Obviously, hence the name of the post.. this never happened. The poor guy’s phone died because his charger wasn’t working earlier @ my house and he never figured out how to get to where I was. Where I am now.
So I’m sitting here, staring @ this blue backpack with a red sox patch sewn into it, I wonder, how the heck is he going to collect his bag? He lives in NH with only a flat bed to drive and was planning on taking the rail to Lowell where he had arranged a ride to get back home.. how was he going to work out those logistics without a phone? Also, he just got a new bank card from some obscure NH bank and hadn’t properly activated it, so he was shit out of luck when it came down to spending $ on a rental car or new phone unless he contacted the bank and transferred $.. during office hours which weren’t this weekend. I hope he at least was able to do that.
Poor guy. I really like him though and hope that karma and the universe will help him sort through to me. He’s really a good soul and doesn’t need to deal with so many obstacles today.
<karma>So if anybody sees a wavy-haired angel wandering around Boston today, could you lend him your phone to call me? Or at least let’s try to get the universe to help in some large way.

Wow. What a week.
If you told me 10 years ago I’d take a profession in social media, I’d probably laugh @ you. I didn’t really do so well taking apart and putting back together computers in my parents’ basement, and I definitely didn’t fare well with the boys when it came to dating; but here I am, a Social Media Producer consulting for companies such as CoupMe, Lynn Murphy TV, Elite Skin Rejuvenation Day Spa, Arrow Limo and Precision Web Marketing (FYI the websites are being updated so come back in a mont!) ultimately and participating as a charity date in Project Cupid’s 1st Annual Auction. I’m hoping I bring more in than $2.50. We’ll see!
So I have to get on this whole #FollowFriday thing on Twitter and I am going to put it out there today on the blog. Promise.
I met a guy.
What else is new?
So I met this guy, and he’s just so fun, and we get along, and he networks, and he’s totally trigger-happy with the referrals, which in this social media industry is AWESOME.. but, alas 
, he has a girlfriend. Someone who cooks him chicken. Someone in the medical field. He has “fun” with her.
Jealous. Totally jealous.
So he’s wicked nice… yah, he’s using me for social media; I’m using him for his car… and to look @ him.
What kind of grinds my gears is the fact that he said he wasn’t so good @ networking but apparently we were playing a game: who knows more people here.. and he won. by 2.
People: I think I’ve met my match. My equal. My broken arrow.
But… when will he think the same? What do I tell the peops I’m talking to @ the moment when I figure out I’m so bored with them and that I really only want to talk to the one person in this world I’ve connected to in the past year..

I have to stop dating guys who have close to the same name. Chris, Kris, S’well, M’worth.. it’s getting confusing sorting everybody out.. especially when I have a date with one guy from Plenty of Fish and can’t match a name to a profile 
How does one organize dating? Do I start a file with a name on the folder and a photo stapled to the inside? Inside are a collection of date fact finders.. with a complete form filled out with whatever he did incorrectly (and correctly.. yah right) during each time we went out. Witty? check. Stylish? check. Paid for everything? check… okay now he gets a red folder because he’s moved up in my ranks

Sunday Brunch @ Friendly Toast
I would totally start every Sunday @ Friendly Toast if the line wasn’t out the door, constituting a 2 hour wait! My to-do list here includes the Almond Joy Pancakes I usually split with company because they’re HUGE.. and the spicy Huevos Rancheros with the spicier cayenne cheddar toast, which I keep to myself as well as their pint-glass mimosa(s). mmmm.
Ice Skating @ Kendall Square
Bundled up head to toe, we’d make our way to the outdoor skating rink @ Kendall. For only $5 admission ($3 with a valid student ID) and $8 to rent skates, this is a no-brainer to kill time when you’re buzzing off the booze from morning brunch.. If you are new to skating, lessons are only $30 for a half hour or they also have classes that run 2/3-3/14 on Saturdays or Sundays for $90.
Shopping @ Harvard Square
What’s a good Valentine’s Day without a good ol’ shopping fest? Since my ladies and I are not attached, we have to foot the bill ourselves :-p That’s okay, there’s also always window-shopping. Where else to go find the biggest collection of eclectic and eccentric pieces in MA than Cambridge? Taste of Culture for international pieces, Beadworks to create custom jewelry for each other, Hempest to get, you know, hemp stuff. I’d say this takes up a good two hours of getting lost and trying not to have a bead fight and getting thrown out this time…
Booze Shopping @ Old Colony Liquors
Since we all have to gather ourselves for dinner and get dressed for the whole spectacle of things, I have to make a packy run. I live in Quincy, so after riding the Red Line back into my corner of Boston Metro, I have to go to Old Colony. Here, they have an extensive wine and beer collection and they’ll even order bottles that will be in stock for my next trip if they don’t currently carry them! Can’t beat that.

If I’m really looking to “do it up,” me and the ladies are headed over to the Harbor to enjoy dinner and a cruise. They have a huge buffet, so even my picky vegetarian friend can’t complain, and we’d each get a free rose upon boarding and a glass of champagne to toast all the couples. Don’t worry, we’ll be tearing up the dance floor with all the couples and probably grab the MC or a bartender to liven it up…

Where’s the best place to find 20-30-somethings waiting to pick up some really dolled up and gorgeous 20-something women in Boston? On Valentine’s Day? Vox, duh. Vox’s bar hosts the biggest collection of single honies in the city, unless someone’s holding out on me. Their drinks aren’t bad either.. but it’s the company that single-us want to gain and we’re already dressed to the nines and warmed up to go mingle… so mingle on!

So I voted Scott Brown.. much to the chagrin of a few of my Twitter and Facebook contacts. Please, PLEASE tell me why you’re not voting for Scott Brown other than you’re a Democrat. I’m a registered Independent, and I have no problem voting Dem need be. I’m not going to lie, I voted McCain–let me be clear here: I voted McCain. Not Palin–but I still don’t think Obama deserves all this Nobel Prize and “Change” praise. Want change? Legalize pot. Just recently, California stated they’d make $1.3 billion.. that’s BILLION in revenue by taxing it if it was fully legalized but that’s another discussion for another voting day wayyyy in the future…
I voted Scott Brown today because after all the allegations I hear about him denying rape victims the morning after pill and nixing the health care bill, nobody can come to me with a straight face and tell me each accusation has any standing. Dare ya. Please don’t try to “rip me a new one” b/c you’re all hot in the head. Please talk to me like a real human being engaged in a debate when you comment. Thank you.

–Brown offered an amendment that would have exempted medical professionals with “sincerely held religious beliefs,” particularly at a number of Catholic hospitals in Massachusetts, from the law’s requirement to provide emergency contraception. If no one at a given hospital could provide the contraception, Brown’s amendment required that hospital to transfer the rape victim to another facility where she could receive emergency contraception, at no cost to the victim. Brown’s amendment failed, but he voted in favor of the final bill….
Not only did Brown vote in favor of the final emergency contraception bill, his campaign says he also made it very clear during the debate that he supported emergency contraception for rape victims.

it’s not the worst thing in the world to go thru another bout of amendments.. it’s just a BILL. it needs editing. there’s probably a reason why it hasn’t passed yet. anybody have the actual copy?

–I feel that both candidates have pussy-footed this question. Nobody can come to a clean understanding other than “he’s Repub, so he’s probably against it and she’s Dem so she’s probably for it.” Brown has openly opposed gay marriage within his 10yr of politics, but he’s coming back around and not even coming close to saying he’s on the stance of abolishing it. Coakley’s traditional because she has to be. She’s already collecting $ from lobbyists so I guess it’s not up to “the people” anymore. The democratic way, right?
